Globalvia promotes contactless card validation and payment in Metro de Sevilla, the first Spanish metro to incorporate this system.

The metro celebrates European Mobility Week by implementing this new validation and payment system promoted by Globalvia, once again becoming a technological benchmark.

Metro de SevillaMetro de Sevilla, Sociedad Concesionaria de Globalvia, has deployed the TAP&GO system, its new ticketing system with EMV Contactless technology. With this system, users will be able to validate their metro ticket directly with their credit or debit card, in physical format or on their mobile device, without the need to buy or recharge a ticket at the ticket vending machines.

Metro de Sevilla thus becomes a technological benchmark, being the first subway in Spain to implement this state-of-the-art validation and payment system similar to the one that works successfully in cities such as New York or London. This new technological milestone is the commitment of Globalvia, the main shareholder of Metro de Sevilla, to transform the experience of users who use the metro and facilitate the use of this sustainable public transport. The project has been made possible thanks to the collaboration with Mastercard, a leading company in payment technology, Banco Santander, IECISA and other strategic partners who have made their digital tools and technological experience available to the metro.

Users who opt for the so-called TAP&GO system, which is the new ticketing system with EMV contactless technology, will be able to apply the fare of the bonometro (0 hops-0.82 €/1 hop-1.17 €/2 hops-1.37 €), which is the same as the Consortium fare without transfers. You can also apply the one-day pass fare, which allows you to make an unlimited number of journeys and hops during the day for €4.5 (this fare is only applied to the first validation if you have made two or more validations with the same bank card).
